{"id":103,"date":"2015-07-17T16:11:20","date_gmt":"2015-07-17T16:11:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/new.yourpcgeek.com\/blog\/?page_id=103"},"modified":"2017-07-12T02:19:05","modified_gmt":"2017-07-12T02:19:05","slug":"casa-grande-ruins","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/yourpcgeek.com\/blog\/can-you-spell-rv\/casa-grande-ruins\/","title":{"rendered":"Our first destination \u2013 Casa Grande Ruins National Monument"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>March 2015<\/p>\n<p>We are SO EXCITED!<\/p>\n<p>Even before we had really decided to begin full time RV living, we had met a couple at the V-bar-V Heritage Site south of Sedona, AZ. \u00a0They were volunteering there for the season, working as interpretive guides, etc. \u2014 and receiving their site &amp; utilities in exchange for their service. \u00a0This concept SO intrigued us! \u00a0As we left that site we discussed how perfect such an arrangement would be for us \u2014 learning about the site and it\u2019s people and sharing this with the visitors.<\/p>\n<p>Since we have been seriously planning to go full time, we have been looking at various Volunteer opportunities at sites such as that. \u00a0Last December we had sent in one application \u2014 for Casa Grande Ruins National Monument. \u00a0 Last night (6\/16\/2015) the Director called to ask us to come to Casa Grande for the winter!!!<\/p>\n<p>We will be tour guides &amp; information resources three days a week. \u00a0We will have free RV parking (including electric, water &amp; propane) on site \u2013 along with six other volunteer\u2019s RVs. \u00a0So we will have some like-minded neighbors with whom to share some of our off-time.<\/p>\n<p>We will be living in Southern Arizona December through mid-April, an hour south of Phoenix and an hour-and-a-half north of Tuscon. \u00a0Highs will range from upper 60\u2019s to low 80\u2019s while we are there! \u00a0Average annual snow fall: \u00a00\u2033 \u00a0(Hear that Cleveland??
