Just before New Years\u2019 we drove to Picacho Peak State Park to do a little hiking.\u00a0 It was a sunny day, but very windy.\u00a0 Of course we are not fully in condition for more strenuous hiking.\u00a0 But it was a pleasant outing nonetheless.<\/p>\n

We continue to enjoy our role as volunteers at Casa Grande Ruins.\u00a0 Every so often we wander off the \u201cbeaten path\u201d and are treated with the discovery of another interesting pot sherd.\u00a0 And talking with the visitors continues to be a joy.<\/p>\n

The big news is that we have been accepted as Interpretive Volunteers for the Forest Service Heritage Sites in Sedona!\u00a0 We will be parking our trailer right IN<\/u><\/strong> one of the Red Rock Canyons while we are staying at the Palatki Heritage Site.\u00a0 Here are links to some web sites that describe Palatki:\u00a0 NFS<\/a>, Wiki<\/a>, and Verde Valley<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We will be in Sedona for May, June, July, and August!\u00a0 I doubt that we will ever get our \u201cfill\u201d of Sedona, but we will have lots of time to hike, re-visit favorite places, and explore new ones.\u00a0 The first three months will be at Palatki, and the last month we may move to the V-Bar-V Heritage site \u2013 a site with over 1000 ancient petroglyphs.\u00a0 This volunteer assignment is particularly special to us because it was at these two Heritage Sites that we were first introduced to Volunteering and the role full-time RVers\u00a0 play in the operation of Heritage Sites, National Parks, state parks, and similar locations.\u00a0 We have come full circle!<\/p>\n
