We just spent two weeks in Yellowstone & Grand Tetons.\u00a0 Each day\u2019s memories are squished into one, featuring wildlife viewings, amazing vistas, geysers and hot spots, fun with Cindi and Roger, Hillary and Carol, and more.\u00a0 Pictures tell it best!<\/p>\n

Our first day at Grand Tetons we drove around with Cindi and Roger to get the lay of the land and perhaps see some wildlife.\u00a0 How about 5 different species in one afternoon!<\/p>\n

Who knew that it snows in September in Wyoming??<\/p>\n

A\u00a0drive to the\u00a0Lower Falls of the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone:<\/p>\n

provided more wildlife opportunities as well as beautiful views.<\/p>\n

While we had seen pictures of herds of bison and bison jams, we had only seen lone bulls in the woods.\u00a0 But on our way to the Norris Geyser Basin, we saw them!<\/p>\n

Now for the question:\u00a0 Why did the two bull bison cross the road?<\/p>\n

Answer:\u00a0 Because they can!<\/p>\n

Norris Basin geysers and hot spots and vistas are\u00a0almost unearthly.<\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a0\"\"\u00a0\"\"\u00a0\"\"\u00a0\"\"\u00a0\"\"\u00a0\"\"\u00a0\"\"\u00a0\"\"<\/p>\n

Even in this land of geysers and hot springs and steam, there is wildlife:<\/p>\n

As we drove along, there was another “Bison Jam”.\u00a0 This time he was walking right down the center line of the road!<\/p>\n

Of course, everywhere you turn there is another beautiful vista!<\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a0\"\"<\/p>\n

We boondocked the 2nd<\/sup>\u00a0week we were the Grand Tetons, and here was our view!\u00a0 We were living in a postcard!<\/p>\n

The views in Grand Teton was ever changing and always beautiful.<\/p>\n

We saw bears a couple times, and finally got pictures of a bear!<\/p>\n

Jackson WY is a fun, touristy town!<\/p>\n

It is also home to the headquarters for the National Elk Refuge, where we hope to volunteer some day…<\/p>\n

But the trip was not “all”\u00a0wildlife and mountains.\u00a0 We also met friends from our Grand Portage days, Hillary & Carol.\u00a0 And got some quality time with Cali & Pepper — Roger & Cindi’s dogs.<\/p>\n

Checking these 2 outstanding parks off our bucket lists has been \u00a0special for us.\u00a0 Our volunteering at the National Parks, Wildlife Refuges and Forests make it feel like we are part of the whole system, and certainly seeing these beautiful places is an uplifting experience.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
