Our three month trip had a great start in and around Page, AZ.\u00a0 We stayed at Lee’s Ferry Campground and a friendly fellow said that the spot overlooking the Colorado River had just opened up — so we quickly snagged it!\u00a0 What a view!!<\/p>\n

Navajo Bridge, built in 1929, replaced Lee’s Ferry as the only way to cross the Colorado River for about 200 miles.\u00a0 The original bridge is a walking bridge over the Colorado.<\/p>\n

Judith really wanted to take a boat ride on Lake Powell, and it was delightful.<\/p>\n

Friday, we took a drive to see Vermilion Cliffs National Monument.\u00a0 A pleasant drive with beautiful red rocks (which of course we love).<\/p>\n

Saturday, we had made reservations with Adventurous Antelope Tours to visit Owl Canyon, Rattlesnake Canyon, and Antelope Canyon.<\/p>\n

Before the tour started, a young Navajo man performed a “Hoop Dance”.\u00a0 Very enjoyable!<\/p>\n

Owl Canyon lived up to it’s name with a sleepy owl in residence — however we did not see either the Rattlesnake nor the Antelope!\u00a0\u00a0The sinuous shapes carved by water and wind were fascinating.\u00a0 \u00a0We will leave it to you to decide whether you prefer the sleeping owl, or the open eyed owl!<\/p>\n
