Gila Cliff Dwellings

Gila Cliff Dwellings, Silver City, City of Rocks, & Rockhound State Park

10-5-2016

We took a three day excursion to visit Gila Cliff Dwellings and the surrounding area.

The drive  through Gila National Forest was spectacular:DSC_0238_stitch (Medium)

And the cliff dwellings themselves were great!

We stayed at City of Rock State Park — It was like camping in the middle of Stonehedge!

We also visited Silver City — an old mining town that is also a college town and a fun, funky place.  The “Little Toad Creek” brewery was a fun place to eat.

Judith has always wanted to go “rock hounding”; so we went to Rock Hound State Park where she found some fun items.

She may have found a beautiful piece of very smooth “agate” (???)
