Clymer Tulip Festival

Saturday was mostly a lazy day.  We slept in late, then went on an adventure to see the Clymer Tulip Festival.  Though it’s population of 1,700 is 5 or 6 times the size of my hometown, it is still truly an American small town, celebrating the Dutch ancestors who settled the area.  Many girls and ladies wore wooden shoes and little lace caps, but the tulips were almost completely missing — we saw about 3 clusters of tulips blooming in the planting beds of homes along the main street, that was the total extent of the tulips.  Oh well, it was still fun visiting the General Store, stopping in at various booths for homemade cookies, honey, the Class of 1964, the class of 2024, etc.!
