We arrived at Custer State Park and dry camped at the Center Lake Campground. It was a beautiful site, and we had a deer hopping past just up the hill after we got settled.
We took a drive around the Wildlife Loop. It was wonderful!

The wild Burros were very friendly — no way to keep 25 yards from the wildlife!
I’m not sure whether he was reading the map, or just in “time out”!

The next day we met our friends Leah & Kevin for a trip to Mt. Rushmore. It was “mind-blowing” to be able to see the great sculpture from miles & miles away!
